Online Hotel Reservation

The rates for using online hotel reservation is for real?

Hello, I'm going to Brussel tomorrow, and just now I booked a hotel from booking.com, is it safe? Well I mean the normal rate of the room I book is around 800 Euro for two nights, but somehow it become 160 Euro for two nights. Is it for real? I book it because it's cheap, but I'm afraid when I come to the hotel they will give extra charge for bla bla bla.

They sent me email stating that the fee is 160 Euro, tax and service charge are already included. Does this mean that I really only have to pay 160 Euro, not more than that? How come they reduce from 800 to 160?? Is booking.com safe?

One more thing, I borrow my friend's credit card number, but tomorrow I'm not allowed by him to bring it. Can I come to the hotel and only showing the reference code they sent via email (maybe I'll print the email later)? Booking.com said that I will pay cash in the hotel, the credit card will only used in case I didn't show up. Is it true?

Thanks before :)

I have never used booking.com, but i have used several others and I have had no problem at all with my hotels, it was the price stated and no hidden fee's at all, also you only need the credit card if your gonna use that to pay for the room, if your paying cash you won't have to have the card, but as a precaution make sure you print a copy of your reservations and take it with you for proof just incase you need anything.
