What should you do and take if you are six weeks pregnant?
We live in Vietnam and the OBGYN here told us not to worry about prenatal vitamins until later in the pregnancy. My wife eats a pretty healthy diet anyway, but is this correct. I've been reading alot on the internet today because we just found out and had an ultrasound, but most of the websites I've seen say you need calcium, folic acid, and iron most. When should she start taking these? Also, she went in for a medical exam about 2 weeks ago and we didn't know she was pregnant. She got vaccinations to travel and an Xray. What problems could result from this. What do we need to look for? The vaccinations were Tetanus, Mumps, Measles, Rubella, and Diptheria. She didn't get sick from the vaccinations, and the ultrasound today seemed normal to everyone that saw it. She has had some pain in her stomach recently, is this normal?
Well I have only had one baby but I know she should be taking the prenatal vitamins. I would request them from the doctor or go to the local drug store and see if they are for sale. If not you can send me an email and I will go and buy some and send the to you. The baby should be getting everything he/she needs to grow and develop.
I know she should be drinking lots of milk, grape juice, eating lots of leafy green veggies-Spinach and other items for iron.
She should not get anymore X-rays and I would go back to the doctor and make sure that the vaccinations had/will not have any affects on the baby. Don't let her sleep on her stomach anymore either.
Remember, even though the doctor said not to worry about the vitamins, go and ask for them anyway. It's her job to help with ANY request you might have. Hope I have been a little help to you. CONGRATS!!!
