Should I give food to a homeless Vietnam war vet?
I'm serious.
My class is going to Washington, DC for a field trip. Part of the tour is the Vietnam War memorial. The teacher said that there may be a homeless war vet there asking for food, and she advises us not to give him food. She said she'd PREFER us not to.
Also, she isn't my group leader. My friend's mom is my group leader XD
But shouldn't someone who served America deserve more than that? Should I bring along some food for the guy?
Opps, sorry. I clicked on the wrong section. This shouldn't be in the politics section.
I think you should obey your teacher and not give him food. Your teacher is ultimately responsible for you and has her reasons for asking students not to interact with the homeless.
When you're at home, feel free to volunteer as there are plenty of soup kitchens and shelters in need of assistance. You can still be a good Samaritan and volunteer on your own watch.
