Nha Trang Tour

Has anyone gone back to Vietnam after 40 years?

Several of the guys I served with in 1969 in the US Army are thinking of going back to visit. We will want to go mainly in the lower 2 corps area. Phan Thiet,Bay Loc, Dalat, Phan Rang, Cam Rahn, Nha Trang. Ban Me Touit.
Has anyone done this?
Is there any tour companies that specialize in these type of trips?
Is there anything left of the Bases, compounds, airfields.
THANKS I will have many questions in the near future.

There have been many US veterans (of the Vietnam conflict) that have visited Vietnam in recent years; from the famous such as John McCain and John Kerry to the every day person like many of my friends. I have been to Vietnam 12 times in the last 14 years and on most of my flights over and back, I've run into US veterans (individuals, families and groups) who were on their way there or back on tours of Vietnam.

I've also run into them on the streets, restaurants, hotels, shops...wearing signs/insignias indicating them as veterans/on some veteran tours. Those I talked to all said they had a great time and were so well treated by the Vietnamese people, North and South who welcome them as former enemies but new friends. Some veterans told me it was a life-changing experience for them to get to see Vietnam at peace and prospering. Now, everytime they hear the word "Vietnam", they no longer think of the war but of the new images of beautiful landscape, friendly people, great shopping and great food!

There are many tours catered to US veterans visiting Vietnam. I'm listing just a few below.

Get your friends, family members, former comrades in arms to go with you. You'll have a great time.

Welcome home, brother!
