Visa to sit in Germany airport and wait for next flight?
My mother and I live in ireland and we're traveling to vietnam on febuary 2009, our flight is from dublin to frankfurt airport then to bangok (for refuel) and to vietnam (final destination). I'm wondering that, would me and my mom need a visa for germany to allow us to sit in their airport for 4-5hours to wait for next onward flight to bangok? My mom and I dont got irish citizen ship but we've been in ireland for 11years and we travel with a travel document to mostly just vietnam for holidays.
It is important that if anyone know accurately if I need a visa or not please tell me, Much appreciation if you can help me.
germany only requires a visa for certain citizenship. the visa is called an "airport transit visa." this depends on which country you are a citizen of. also, often times, if you are a resident of an EU country (such as ireland), you don't need a visa.
if you are a citizen of vietnam, then you do not need a visa.
