Vietnam Or Malaysia??????
I am going on a holiday with my family in around september this year and I am not sure where to go. We will be flying to Singapore and after a few days will continue on to either Vietnam (Hanoi) or Malaysia (Penang). I have been to Vietnam twice and love Hanoi and Nha Trang (Vinpearl Rocks). I love the whole country but my Mother wants to go to Penang so I want to know which is better for a teenage boy.
Also which is the best airline out of Melbourne (Australia) to Singapore and the next destination?
I can't answer which airline is best from Melbourne to Singapore, but once you get to Singapore, Air Asia would be the cheapest choice of flight to either Malaysia or Vietnam, convenient to book online also.
Vietnam is the place to go if you like cheap beers and chaos, you can hire a motorbike and get harassed by the vendors anywhere you go.
Hanoi is close to Sapa with gorgeous countryside view and minoritiy trivbes who will try to sell you local merchandises. Outside tourist areas it's hard to find people that speaks english.
Malaysia is more orderly, the beers with cost you a fortune, otherwise the price is slightly more expensive in general compared to Vietnam, you don't get harassed as much by street vendors. The food in Penang is fantastic, you are basically there to try out the food. The demograghy in Malaysia is more interesting, you will see a mix of different people of chinese, indians and malays. It is easier to get by as tourists since most people speak english.
