Hostels in Asia? Thailand/Cambodia/Laos/Vietnam/Malaysia?
So what are the hostel systems like in these particular countries? I'm arriving in Thailand in mid-Nov and have no particular plans on where I'm staying or doing. Does anyone know of good condition hostels and what amenities they have and how much it is a night. Thanks!
I was in Thailand in April 2007 and there is a small street ( I forgot the name of the places I stayed at or the name of the street) but they are all together on this one street off Khao San Road. You have Khao San Road, and then you have 2 streets on both sides, its one of those other 2 streets, not directly on Khao San. But Anyways, it was 200 baht per night to have a room with a fan and 2 beds (more like cots) and a lock on the door. If you want to share the room with strangers, they have a room with 5 or 6 beds all in 1 room for about 40 baht a night. This street that had the place I stayed at, also had many other places with similar prices. I can only speak for Thailand, I dont know those other places. Also, in Phuket I stayed at the cheapest place I could find which was the crystal inn and it was about 400 baht a night for a nice room with a large bed and air conditioning. In Pattaya, believe it or not, its cheaper the closer you are to the beach (I think because there is so much bars and not alot of people want to be in the middle of that).
