Budget way of getting from Phnom Penh over to Ho Chin Minh City?
Dear all,
I be leaving from Phnom Penh for Ho Chin Minh, and will need to return to Phnom Penh to catch my flight.
Looking at leaving Phnom Penh on the 25th (yes Xmas day, spent travelling I suppose) and having to return to Phnom Penh by the 29th night.
Love sightseeing, and don't mind A LITTLE bit of roughening up. Would love to have the energy upon arrival though, to still visit friends, and visit Vietnam. Should you guys have any suggestions on this travel, please let me know.

I was going to suggest taking a boat down the Mekong into Vietnam then bus to HCMC but overland travel in SE Asia can be a bit slow and unpredictable. Considering your time frame you should probably just fly.
