we are putting together a short mini documentarty on my travels in viet nam..we want to use it to raise funds?
for the poor lepored , sick and old... so far everyone involved has worked for free... we need music.. we have some nice stuff picked out but it from big named rock bands..what do you thing our chances are of them letting us have use of top tunes at no cost..?
ARE THERE COMPUTER SITE THAT LET YOU OBTAIN MUSIC FOR SUCH PURPOSES FREE OF CHARGE?...please help with ideas.. the less we spend the more we can give to VERY needy folks....
Hi Ong Jon, I guess I'm "stalking" you again lol. I assume that you are trying to help people who are suffering from leprosy, also known as Hansen's disease. You could try contacting any of the numerous charities devoted to this disease. They could probably help you out. I don't know if you'll have much success contacting Bono, Jagger, etc. Those guys are approached by a million people a year who want their time/help. They are pretty well insulated from people like us.
As far as licensing their music, google ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Artists and Performers), or BMI (Broadcast Music International). If you want a license to record their music (perhaps using local talent to provide the soundtrack of "covers") contact the Harry Fox Agency.
