Travel Indochina

What language is written on my necklace and what does it mean?

I was given a necklace from a friend who traveled to indochina. My friend can't recall what it means and I've wondered for years!

Here is a picture of it:

Foreignwords, I agree... I've searched the internet for various alphabets and I found tibetan to look similar, but like you said I might be reading it upside down. Thanks for the input :D
Foreignwords, I agree... It appears to be very stylized. I've searched the internet for various alphabets and I found Tibetan to look similar, but like you said I might be reading it upside down. Thanks for the input :D

I might be making a very stupid suggestion, but consider the possibility that it could
A) Be upside down
B) Be nothing
C) Be a language (or form of an existing written language) that no longer exists.
Irrelevant suggestions aside...
I read Thai (and Laotian) very very poorly, and the script is so stylized (hand-written or something) that it's hard to identify, but would be from the same general part of the world. As to meaning, I have NO IDEA. Just some thoughts to hopefully point you in the right direction. Sorry.
