is joining the marines worth it?
ive wanted to join the military since i was 2 when my grandpa who fought in vietnam took me on a tour of a local military base in el paso. i have other life goals other than joining the military so i dont know if i should do it or not, im 14 but i have alot of my lifes goals mapped out, i want a family, i want to be a writer and i want to be succesful but i dont know if the marines would be good for me (or any branch of the military for that matter). what do you think? would joining the marines be worth it?

I can only speak for my self but here goes
My family did not have much money when I was growing up so I looked at the Army as a way to get money for college So i joined the army for 3 years . Little did I know that 3 year enlistment would lead to a 25 year career
Some of my most enjoyable times In my life happened while in uniform , sure there where plenty of long days long nites , weeks and months there was deployments and the likes . However I also made some of my dearest friends , was able to get my college degree. Travel all over the world and now at 46 . A great career with the Department of defense. Not to mention a retirement check each month and many other perks that go with being retired
So to answer your question is the Military worth it . In my case HELL YES IT WAS
