"Nostalgia" trip back to Viet Nam?
I have become overwhelmed with a feeling of nostalgia and would like to go back to Viet Nam for a visit. I was there in 1964-65, stationed at MACV in Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh City). I want to go there and to Da Nang, where I was on TDY with the Marines. I wa a 1LT with the Army Security Agency. Is there a group that promotes such trips? "Chuc Mung Nam Hoi"!
There are plenty of Veteran Tour groups. Finding one won't be hard but finding a tour that suits you personally might be a different story. If you're confident enough I recommend you do it yourself. Getting to Saigon is easy enough. Given that you were stationed in Saigon you will probably want to spend more time there than the average tour allows. Danang is a short plane trip away and after visiting the places you're familiar with you can then tailor the rest of your holiday to suit yourself.
