What is your favorite memorial/museum to visit at Washington DC?
I'm from wisconsin, but when i went there, i personally loved the Vietnam memorial and Iwo jima. I really wanted to see the Holocaust museum, but our tour guide wouldn't let us. So when you went there, which spot did you like the best?
Oh I loved the Holocaust Museum. It was tragic to see (my family was killed in the Holocaust) but it was such a great source of information. It's not really a place for those who are easily disturbed, because there are actual artifacts and graphic videos, but WoW. There are even survivors there that you can talk to and hear there stories. It was amazing.
Other than that, I'm a fan of the Korean War memorial. Each statue has a different face and expression. It's like they were frozen in time, turned to stone and scattered over the landscape. And with the ghost figures carved into the wall next to them it was chilling.
