Vietnam tours 247 - Quang Binh is a province in central Vietnam, bordering Ha Tinh Province to the north, East Sea to the west, Laos to the south and Quang Tri province to the south. The climate here is monsoon tropical climate, in which divided into two seasons per year: dry season and rainy season. The annual average temperature is about 25 º C - 26 º C. The terrain is rather complex - mountains and forests are very close to the sea forming gradually steep slope from the east to the west. Quang Binh has narrow delta and many rivers. There is also 116 kilometer-long coastline with two major ports: Gianh and Nhat Le ports.

Potential for tourism development:

Located in the gateway to ancient Hue, lying on Ngang pass, Quang Binh spreads out like a monumental painting of mountains and rivers. The landscapes here are spectacular, charming and romantic. It has long twinkle golden sands under poplar forest with many beautiful beaches, sparkling emerald sea which hasn't been polluted.

This province also has well-known landscapes such as Phong Nha cave, Tien Son cave, primitive forest in Phong Nha - Ke Bang conservation zone, Nhat Le beach, Da Nhay beach, Bang hot spring, etc. .. Among them, Phong Nha is one of the largest and most beautiful caves in Vietnam. Phong Nha - Ke Bang is the fifth World Heritage of Vietnam. In addition, nowadays, Quang Binh has preserved many historical and cultural monument through ages. And there are many other attractive destinations waiting for tourists.

Quang Binh is the land of cultural objects, with Bau Tro cultural relics, the relics of the culture of Hoa Binh and Dong Son, many historical sites such as: Quang Binh Quan, Luy Thay, Rao Sen, Thanh Nha Ngo, citadel of Trinh - Nguyen period, many remarkable lands in the two wars fighting against invaders such as Cu Nam, Canh Duong, Cha Lo, Cong Troi, Xuan Son, Long Dai, Ho Chi Minh road, etc. ..

Traffic is rather convenient. Dong Hoi city, the city directly under Quang Binh province, is 489km away from Hanoi.

For decades, geologists have known that Vietnam is home to some of the world's most spectacular caves, many of them largely unexplored. Now husband-and-wife cavers have documented perhaps the world's largest: Hang Son Doong, big enough in places to accommodate a New York City block of skyscrapers.

The cave in the Annamite Mountains contains a river and jungle (its name translates to "mountain river cave") and even its own thin clouds, and its end remains out of sight. It's part of a network of about 150 caves in central Vietnam near the Laotian border.

Howard and Deb Limbert of England led the first expedition to enter Hang Son Doong in 2009, but they were stopped a couple of miles in by a huge calcite wall. The team returned recently to climb the wall, take measurements and try to find the cavern's end.

Many more photographs taken in Hang San Doong and other newly explored caves have been published in the January issue of National Geographic and on its website, where you can view larger images. The site also has an interactive graphic of the river cave's path...8th Miracle
