Trip To Hanoi and Saigon, Vietnam in January.?
I am planning a trip to Saigon and Hanoi in January. Can anybody recommendnd me where to stay longer and which of these two cities has more attractions and sightseeings to be visited. As well if anyone can give me any travelling tips for this region it woul be great.
I spent 4 years based in Hanoi and loved it! I favor Hanoi - and have only spend a couple of days in HCMC - so keep that in mind.
You don't say how long you will be there, or what your interests are.
Sapa is an overnight train trip and 2 hour or so bus ride so check it out on the internet. I recommend it! It will probably be cold then though, so be prepared.
Actually Hanoi can be cold in January - or hot and humid. It depends. So come prepared for cold weather and hot weather - but expect things to be cool at best, and cold at worst.
Many museums, the old quarter, tuong theater, the water puppets, and many, many things to see and do.
Bat Trang pottery village is a short taxi ride outside of town - or a very, very cheap bus ride if you can figure out which bus and where to catch it.
