Was the invasion of Hue considered a military success?
During the Tet Offensive in 1968, The NVA invaded a city called Hue. I would like to know if this invasion was considered a success by military officials, at the time? Also, did other people, such as US marines and US citizens share the same opinion?
It was a success for the US military, although the NVA took parts of the city in the initial attack, the Marines eventually killed or pushed them all out. The only way the NVA could have called it a succes was if they had been able to hold the city, which they did not.
