What are standard term dates for govornment schools in Vietnam? When are holidays and when do terms start&fin?
Im hoping to go to Vietnam probably in January sometime, but Im not exactly sure when. I want to find a job teaching Science or English in a gvornment school there. I am a science teacher in England with 2 years experience and I plan to do a CELTA (TEFL) course before I go. I am interested in how long I would be expected to work as I plan only to stay for a few months. I also want to know when the holidays would be and when the terms start (when would be a good time to start). Also if you have any idea of what salary I should expect that would be helpful. Thanks for any information you could give me.

1. You can't find a teaching post in a gov school here (for political reasons and other things)
2. If you could, students wouldn't be able to understand your science lessons because their Eng. is not good enough.
3. However, you can find a job teaching English at private schools (primary, secondary, high school) in Saigon.
4. You can also find a job at the various English teaching centers around the city. They have many classes in the evening.
As you plan to stay for only a few months, I would think number 4 is the most suitable for you.
