do i need a visa for a one week trip to Vietnam?

I am going to Vietnam for 1 week in Jan. I am British and will be traveling to Vietnam from Thailand. Will I need to get a visa before going to Vietnam? Thanks
How and where would i get a visa for Vietnam in Thailand?

Yes. Vietnam requires non-citizens (except certain cases) to have a visa to enter the country regardless of purpose or duration of stay. Wherever you are, just contact the local Vietnam Embassy (Consulate general of Vietnam) to obtain a visa, if there isn't one in the country then you would have to contact the one in Vietnam. There are actually two ways to get it: if you have upwards of two weeks, fill out a visa application. If you are pressed for time, there is also the option of a "visa upon arrival", it is more expensive than a normal visa. What happens is you fill out a similar application to the previous one. After the embassy has approved your application, you pick up your visa at the port of entry into Vietnam when you arrive.
