He received a dishonourable discharge in 1974 and is still weary of legal repercussions (Leavenworth) He is in need of health care physical as well as psychological and has stated this.What are his rights and eligibility to receive both legal as well as mental health council. He is carrying a lot of guilt, living like an animal and should be entitled to council as well as health care. Any information on this would be highly appreciated as I consider him a friend worthy of much more than he has received. His discharge was the result of eliminating an incompetent officer. He needs to talk to the VA. The dishonorable discharge is going to be pretty tough to get by. If he was not in the VA system prior to a couple of years ago, he isn't eligible for crap. I know, I'm one of those too, and so are many of my veteran friends.
