How come people think my fiancee is using me for a citizenship ?
I'm marrying a girl from vietnam who my mother pick because i can't get a girl on my own, I'm 19 years old and this is my last resort. People have told me they think she is using me for a citizenship but something in heart tells me she's not and she's being truthful. How come people think she is using me ???
When you publicize that "I'm marrying a girl from vietnam who my mother pick because i can't get a girl on my own", some people assume you aren't much of a catch. As such, they assume the reason your fiancee is marrying you is because of some other benefits to her besides just getting a life partner. The obvious benefit of marrying someone who has US citizenship, in some people's minds, is to get an immigrant visa which allows the lady to come to live in the US and eventually becoming a US citizen herself.
The risk, if that's the case, is that the lady might get a divorce once she's gotten what she wants (Permanent residence or citizenship).
