Holidays To Vietnam

Where should I visit in Vietnam?

I am going on holiday to Vietnam at the start of august for two weeks. I'm flying into Hanoi and out of HCMC - what are the highlights in between that I should visit??

Hi,

I'll try and keep it very short and sweet - I spent a month in Vietnam in December 08 and the highlights for me were;

Hoi An - a beautiful little town, it has a real "old world" feel as it pretty much escaped any bombing during the war. Cobbled streets and some of the best food in the country. Plus it's packed full of tailors who can make you anything you want!

Halong Bay - Head north east from Hanoi and you'll find one of the most stunning bay's on earth - it does get pretty packed with tourists though.

Hanoi - check out the French Quarter of the city for good food, and a the best baguettes outside of France!

Mui Ne - the water-sports capital of South East Asia! Try kite-surfing or windsurfing here (providing you're there between Sept and Feb, I think that is peak season for the wind!) Also the best restaurant in Vietnam can be found here, it's on the beach and it's called "Lamtong" - don't expect great service, but the food is to die for!

Nha Trang is a overgrown waste of time, only stop there if you have to - or if you like a Miami / Surfers Paradise style city..

Hope this helps! While you're away, why not join round My World and create a travel blog - it's free to join and helps other travelers.
