How to travel from vietnam to thailand? As an American?
I am spending 3 months this summer in vietnam.. and I want to travel to hongkong. Thailand. The Philipines and all that.. how can i do it legally?? and how do i do it??
It does not matter what nationality you are.
Most places that you have listed have visa on Arrival. So you don't have to worry about Visas except for Vietnam. and You can do that on line or get the visa through the embassy or consulate. (Washington or San Francisco)
as far as traveling from Vietnam to Thailand you have a couple of choices and it just depends on what money you want to spend. You can do it quick and pricey by flying or slow and almost as much by taking the bus. A one way ticket on Air Asia can be as little as $50 bucks but is usually closer to $70 with airport taxes etc. The bus will take you through Cambodia and thats a good thing. Cambodia is very cool with great food, Angkor Wat and amazing girls.
A bus ticket from Saigon to Phnom Phen is only $10 bucks but the visa is going to cost $25 so keep it in mind. then the bus from Phnom Phen to Siem Reap is $6 and Siem Reap to Bangkok is $16 or so. Now thats going to take a few days even if you don't stop and see the sights so you can see how flying could be less costly in the long run.
So up to you. No problem with the "legally" aspect. Its the only way to do it. Try this web site for some cheap tickets and check out their All Asia Air Pass and Round the World passes.
