visa for holiday in Vietnam ?
can you get a visa on arrival in vietnam or do i need to get 1 before i go , travelng from the UK
With the exception of the last answer I do not think you have had very helful advice. I have been to Vietnam 6 times in the last 4 years all travelling from the UK. I would advise as follows:
Yes - you need to have a visa in advance.
The cost has been around £38 but I suggest you ring the Embassy (which is located in Kensington, West London - nearest tube Gloucester Road) to confirm if you wish to apply by post. If possible though attend in person, you do however have to return to pick up your passport or pay £5-00) for it to be posted. I have had mistakes made on visas issued before that were rectified when I was in the Embassy and this is an advantage of attending to pick up the visa.
If you need a double entry visa to Vietnam you must apply for this before you travel and pay the higher fee.
Take note of the opening times at the Embassy, I recommend not getting there early when it can be quite busy but later on, shortly before it shuts. Often then you will be the only person there and save a lot of time.

Agents charge a lot to get a visa, worth it if you live far from London otherwise not.
Good luck
