Trip through Asia..need help from backpackers!!?

Hi,

I'm trying to have a trip from Taiwan to Indonesia through Hong Kong-China-Vietnam-Laos-Thailand-Malaysia. It's not an expensive trip, so I might need suggestions or any tips from backpackers, coz I wanna do it just like the way they do.

Is it possible to do for a woman like me (I'm 27 years old, good physical condition) to have this trip by myself? How safe will it be, I mean is this route secure enough to travel alone?

It's going to be my very first time..I need information as many as possible, especially about doing it by land (no airplane), cost, food, cheap hotel, just anything u know about it..

Sounds like a great adventure, but you need to consider safety as well.Get youslef into travel forum and get in touch with other backpackers.For malaysia you might neen to spare RM1500 apprx US 500 to live in nice backpackers lodging in Kuala Lumpur,meal night out , transport and a bit of buying this and that.It wont be as much but I am saying to you as a girl we dont know what comes next and having extra cash helps.
I was told before i left for Cambodia back then ,anywhere could be unsafe , so just like Malaysia everyone have different ideas about safety issues but I guess as long as you avoid walking alone in the dark , keep your belongings safely and taking all the preventive measure , you will be fine .
