I just had my 12 week pregnancy scan last week?
and it was very special. My partner and I have just arrived home from living 2 years overseas and travelling. WE have been living together almost 18months but we are not married. We both love each other and want to get married one day but are in no rush just because we are having a baby. This was unplanned and happened due to taking tablets when we were travelling through Vietnam! But we are both looking forward to it. I'm 25 and he's 26. I'm really scared and a very worried to tell our parents! No one knows yet, my partner keeps asking when will we tell them..How do I deal with all this? And do you think it matters that we aren't married?
It doesn't matter what age you are some parents just don't handle news of this calibre well.
I'm 34, 35 in July and have just fallen pregnant with my third child and I'm in no hurry to tell my parents of my news. Not one of my pregnancies (miscarried twice), has been to my mothers liking her normal response is why would you do something like that or how the hell did that happen?
After my miscarriage in October she told me to get sterilised!!
If they were happy for you to live together unwed then I can't see them objecting too much. They may be in complete shock at first but I bet they love the idea of a little grand baby in the end and if they don't then it's their lose isn't it?? As long as you and your partner have the love and commitment to raise a child together then nothing else matters.
