Vietnamese Traditions?

My boyfriend is Vietnamese and I really want to learn everything there is about his family's Culture and practices. Holidays, Festivals, things that are considered Taboo, Things that are considered good luck, things that may be offensive, Anything at all would be most helpful! And if anyone would be willing to teach me more about Viet Nam, send me an e-mail please, I would love to have a friend to teach me! *^_^*

Also which is the correct way to spell Vietnam, or Viet Nam, or is there another more correct spelling? Thank you for any help!

The Vietnamese are a very tolerant people so don't worry at all about putting your foot in it . There are so many things that are different but you will find it does not matter , just show respect and the rewards are plentiful . There are many customs and and event's that are celebrated the main one being Tet , when the whole country stops . Some strange one's at a baby's birth , wedding's , funerals . A big good luck token at Tet is to give "new money" fresh from the bank it does not matter about denomination .
Google Vietnam culture's there is a vast catalogue of thing's there to peruse , just making a small effort will go down well . You will have fun learning more when you get there though , the spelling of Viet nam is the same its the pronunciation that differs .
