Any holiday tips for Vietnam and Cambodia?
We plan to visit Vietnam and Cambodia for August. We only plan to book flights. Can anyone suggest a 20 day itinerary of what to see.

We plan to start in Malaysia then move to Vietnam. 10-14 days in Vietnam and onto Cambodia. From Cambodia overland to Bangkok where we finish.
We want to travel on spec booking a good hotel for the first night in both Vietnam and Cambodia (Malaysia and Thailand are no problem). We then travel light staying wherever is cheap and reasonable standard. If things get to rough we can afford a good hotel if necessary - so any hotel no problems.
We want to see the cultural side and the ancient ruins, with a few days at the beach if possible.

PS whats your budget, are you a "tourist " or a "traveler" do you like sightseeing or adventure ?.. give us a clue of "who you are ... there is much to do....do you like beach or mts?, do you like shopping for souveneirs?..i have a friend who goes and stays in places like the flash "Rex " hotel for $300 a night... and he chastises me for taking the back pack rout....lotta ways to go there..0k i read your addtion... get yourself a copy of "lonley planet"[ south east asia] all you need to know is in there.
